Machu Picchu Full Day
We suggest you arrive in Cusco a few days early to acclimatize and stay in a hotel near the center with easy access.
Pick up time: 4:00 am - We will pick you up from your hotel around this time, which may vary depending on the final train schedule. If you are staying in the Sacred Valley, pick-up will be between 6:00 am and 7:00 am due to the proximity to Ollantaytambo. After pick up, we will start with a transfer by vehicle to Ollantaytambo train station, where you will board the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (Aguas Calientes). The journey takes 1.5 hours and will take you through breathtaking scenery from the high Andes to the Cloud Forest. Upon arrival at the final station, the guide will be waiting for you for a bus ride to the entrance of Machu Picchu, which will take about 30 minutes.
You will arrive at the main gate of Machu Picchu at approximately 10:00 am, in time to fully enjoy this ancient wonder. Make sure you have your entrance tickets and original passport ready. Once inside, you will explore Machu Picchu with your guide for about 2 to 3 hours. The tour follows Circuit 1 or 2 and includes the most important buildings, such as the viewpoints, the Guardian's House, the terraces, temples, palaces, among others. You will also be able to stop at the best places to take breathtaking pictures and relax while enjoying the fantastic views.
After the tour, we board the bus back to Aguas Calientes, where you will have time for lunch (not included) and enjoy some free time in town. You can stroll through the streets or, weather permitting, visit the hot springs. Aguas Calientes is a small town, and you can easily walk around it in about 10 minutes.
In the afternoon, we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, where the team and transportation will be waiting to take you back to Cusco. If you want a more scenic experience, you can opt to upgrade your ticket to the Vistadome Train, which offers live entertainment and more spacious seats and windows. You will arrive at your hotel between 7:30 pm and 8:00 pm.
